News: Technical Writing Students Revamp Lubbock Water Report

This past summer, six Texas Tech graduate students redesigned the water quality report for Lubbock residents. Previous reports' scientific wording, complexity, and details frustrated the 70,000 recipients. They could not determine the answer to their main concern: "Is my water safe?". As part of a document design course, students conducted user research, prototyping and usability testing to help create a report Lubbock residents could read quickly and easily.
