News: Technical Writing Students Revamp Lubbock Water Report

This past summer, six Texas Tech graduate students redesigned the water quality report for Lubbock residents. Previous reports' scientific wording, complexity, and details frustrated the 70,000 recipients. They could not determine the answer to their main concern: "Is my water safe?". As part of a document design course, students conducted user research, prototyping and usability testing to help create a report Lubbock residents could read quickly and easily.

News: Adobe Changes Its Course

November 14, 2011
Adobe has had an eventful November already. First, it canceled Flash. Then it announced that 750 jobs would be eliminated. Today, Adobe unveiled its new focus: Digital Media and Digital Marketing.
This narrowing of business opportunities was somewhat surprising. Many analysts theorize that Adobe is simply trying to take advantage of its recent acquisitions of Auditude and Demdex.

Online surveys completed by 105 executives responsible for document management processes reveal that spending for document management activities is expected to increase or remain level during the next 12 months.
